1. The Election Commission  Poll schedule announced for Biennial Elections for 57 Rajya Sabha seats from 15 states.

Notification for the election will be issued on 24th of May and the last date of nomination for these seats will be 31st of this month. Polling will be held on 10th of June and counting of votes will be taken up on the same day. 

2. The Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha (ABKM) has requested PM Modi to name the new parliament building after Delhi’s last Hindu emperor, Prithviraj Chauhan or the founder of the city, Anangpal Tomar.

3. India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted that the southwest monsoon is likely to advance into South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal around May 15, 2022.

4. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Thursday that Centre aims to build 18,000 km of highways in financial year 2022-23 at a speed of 50 km/day

9. *J&K* : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on 12 May condemned the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit after he was shot dead by militants in the valley. "I strongly condemn the barbaric killing of Rahul Bhat by terrorists at Budgam. Those behind this despicable terror attack will not go unpunished," he said. The government stands with the bereaved family, he added.

10. *KARNATAKA* : Cyclone Asani weakens into a cyclonic storm, Bengalureans are expected to enjoy showers and drizzles over the next five days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD.
